The Newcastle & District league team visited Westerhope on Thursday evening for our second consecutive away game.

Wins for Andrew Minnikin, Karl Mossom and Philip Ridden gave us a creditable 6 6 draw.

April average daily steps were 16728 for the 30 days which totals 501,840 for month and 1,743041 for year so far.
My time as Captain comes to an end on October 20th so need to finish by then and not halfway yet, but will get to 4,000,000 by then with a little encouragement.

When added to January and February it means that I’ve walked 1,241,201 steps so far. That’s just behind the average required so I need to play a lot more golf. Maureen seems okay with that. February steps fell below the required level of 13500 per day, so a big effort required in March.

It was really enjoyable to meet all the players at our Meet the Captain’s event on Sunday 29^th. Thankyou to all who took part. We managed to raise £378 on the day for our Captains Charity, Feeding Families. Thanks also to Phil Tennant and the competitions team for providing the results quickly and efficiently as usual. 

The final result was very close, with the winning 1^st prize of a fourball at Foxton won with a net 50.6 on countback by Dawn Ward, Glen Ward Paul Messner and Alan James.

My 4 million steps challenge got off to an adrenalin fuelled start in January with 446,090 steps walked over the 31 days. That’s an average of 14390 steps per day. February is going to be a lot tougher. Please keep me motivated with a donation of £2.50.
