Question & Answers
Q - We have been on winter greens this week, why is that when the course is now clear of ice?
A - The main greens and the temp greens are still frozen 2-3 inches under the surface. To play on them could cause damage to the roots which would then impact on greens moving into the season ahead. The greenkeepers have not been able to change holes on the temp greens due to the frozen ground, as soon as they thaw holes will be changed.

Q - What areas does the upgraded irrigation system water?
A - On this phase the work covers the greens and tees. The replacement of all components will increase the efficiency of the watering system along with giving more consistent coverage to all areas. This will keep performance of the greens consistent and a full coverage of tees. It is the intention in the next phase to cover greens approaches.

Q - Will a borehole be installed this winter and will it improve the course?
A - The installation has been delayed but we are assured it will be in place before the start of the season. Along with creating a huge saving in water bills it will keep the two tanks now full and therefore allow us to water both greens and tees each night if required.

Q - I understand there is a new patio to be laid? Is this to just replace the existing one and will there be new furniture?
A - Yes we are looking forward to the project commencing in January. The scheme will include the existing area along with some of the garden areas to grab additional space, it will also include all the grassed area to the side of the clubhouse adjacent to the putting green. The path from 18th green will also match the new scheme, the plan is to have new furniture budget permitting.
Also as part of the scheme the project manager has included an auto entry door from patio into clubhouse. The French doors which are currently tough to open for customers and staff especially when carrying drinks will automatically open.
