Lovely weather all day, except at Whitburn!, where heavy mist made life a little more difficlut in our 5th game of the season

A defeat for the lads, with only Anthony Ellison (pictured) picking up points:

On a course many of the lads hadn't played most struggled with poor visibilty on the night.

Kev Hutchinson, Tony Stevenson, Andrew Broady, Iain Smith, Keith Alexander and Paddy Small all losing their matches.

12 - 2 defeat on the night: other results went our way, so we remain 3rd place in Division 3.

Fair to say some of the lads coped with conditions better than others. Whitburn are always strong at home and although we'd have obviously liked more points, it's a difficult fixture out of the way.

We entertain Beamish at home next Tuesday.

Nice weather at last for our trip to Arcot Hall.

A late change in the order with Ken Cairns having to withdraw with a back injury; reserve Dave Ridley stepping in at number 6.

Andrew Minnikin made a great birdie on the stroke 1 16th hole to go dormie and win his match on the next against Club Champion Jonny Brookes.

Phil Ridden, our top points scorer going into the night, suffered a rare defeat against Josh Brookes (Jonny's brother)

Ian Davidson playing slightly up the order at 3, remained unbeaten picking up 2 points against Jim Rutherford.

James Walmsley lost to an inform Steven Ashley who was quick off the blocks with a birdie fest on the front 9.

Paul Souter missing last week, due to the birth of son Harvey, picked up where he left off continuing his 100% record with a 4 & 2 win over Craig Hastings  

Dave Ridley (pictured) stepping in for Ken produced a fine performance to win 2 & 1 against Nick Cassidy on a course he hadn't played for 22 years.

Final result 8 - 4

Well done lads.

Great to both teams very well supported on the night: it's much appreciated.

Next week we entertain Tyneside at home, in a top of the table clash, both teams on 41 points.

Last night our Durham League Team delivered a fantastic result against table toppers Garesfield.

Ken Cairns, Dave Ridley, and Tony Stevenson had big wins in their matches.

Kev Hutchinson Tony Ellison both won on the 17th

as did Paddy Small making his season debut 

Steve Slater delivered a clean sweep after a bit of a scare, dormie three up then winning on the last with a nervy half in 5's

Final result: 14-0

Well done lads.

We now lie second in the league behind  Whickham. 

Next Tuesday it'll be a tough away trip to Whitburn.
