Q - Whats next with greens?
A - Today (Monday) all greens were treated with fertilizer which will help the recovery of the sand injection lines.
Q - Rough seems a little long in places compared to normal, is this deliberate?
A - The lads are on catch up after a extremely busy yet short week last week, the main rough should get a trim this week. There are areas that are out of play that will not be cut as often as we create time for greens work etc.
Q - I noticed some tee positions that were literally just in front of a freshly repaired area!! does this not defeat the purpose.
A - 100% correct, we have a strategy this season with tee box management. On one day this last week this went a little 'pear shaped'. This has been rectified.
Q - Why is there blue tees on the course and can I use them?
A - they are there as an option to those who would prefer a shorter round/ quicker round/ beginners. Just another option for members.
Q - Why do we not have a pro sweep/comp on the alt day on weekend?
A - Just down to members, if they would like an extra comp then we have no problem providing this opportuinity. Last summer we had a number of 4bbb sweeps and singles stableford on alt day but at times were not very well supported. If this is something you would like please email the club at firstname.lastname@example.org
Q - Some of the greens seem to be a bit discoloured on edges, any idea why?
A - Many of the greens are being enlarged back to their former shapes, this will take a bit of time but will close the gap between bunkers and greens on many holes.
Q - If we do have additional functions in the clubhouse will additional monies be used to improve the course?
A - For sure, we are first and foremost a golf course and our aim is to keep improving the course as quickly and professionally as is possible. There is so much to do and it really is all about the funding, we know exactly what we have to do to improve we just need the budget. Any additional funding from whatever stream will make its way into the budget where 'greens' will always be high on the priority list.
Q - Wheres the sheet for entering knockout competitions?
A - You now can enter using the comp sign in terminal in pro shop and clubhouse lobby.
Q - The area in front of 13th tee is the worst on the course, why is this so wet and what is planned to rectify the situation?
A - This you may remember is where the Contractors compound was situated, the ground has been compacted and therefore the water is not draining away as well as we would like. After a meeting with the water authority its was agreed that we initially 'mole plow' the area and see what affect that has, the area will be assessed and possibly additional drainage laid in the spring.
