Seniors Team end Season as Runners-Up
Yesterday, at the City, we had the final senior league match of the season against Bedlingtonshire. Going into the match we were sitting in 2nd place 3 points clear of Blyth. There were some great performances on the day and City ran out 7 - 5 winners. This win was enough to secure second place behind Stocksfield and conclude a very successful league campaign, finishing on 84 points (5 points clear of Northumberland who finished third).
On behalf of the Club, thank you and congratulations to all who participated in the matches.

Narrow Loss for Seniors at Tynemouth
On a typical British Summer’s day we travelled to Tynemouth for our penultimate league game of the season. With many other courses closed in the area I was surprised that the match was able to be played.
The matches started well with 3 out of a possible 4 points after the first two games. Unfortunately we were only able to secure one more victory in the remaining four games, Tynemouth running out 7-5 winners on the day. This leaves us second in the league, behind Stocksfield.
One league match remains against Bedlington at the City on 17th August.

Seniors League Update
Our last two games against Hexham and Ponteland saw the City Seniors claim victory, 8-4 and 7-5 respectfully. We are currently 3rd in the league, behind Stocksfield and Blyth. With 3 games left, we hope to close the gap. Westerhope are our next opponents - at home on Thursday 27th July.
We send our warmest wishes to Keith Ridden and hope to see him back on the course very soon.

Big Win for Seniors
On a lovely sunny day, yesterday, the City seniors produced a great performance and ran out 11-1 winners against our close neighbours Gosforth GC, in a close contest, four of the six games finished on the 18th hole.
The result takes the City up to 3rd in the league 5 points behind Bedlington with a game in hand, unfortunately after six games played Stocksfield are10 points ahead of us having played the same number of games. Our next match is away at Whitley Bay.
