Lady Captain’s news
We celebrated our 2021 golfing year at Presentation Evening at the end of November. The theme was ‘Strictly sparkling’ and the evening was dazzling! Our meal was excellent and we enjoyed personal wine waiting service from Michael.
Next up was our Christmas competition and Party. Sharon devised a Santa Scramble over 14 holes where we played our Santa Joker but the Grinch also made an appearance and stole a drive! Members past and present enjoyed an afternoon of quizzes, mince pies and a performance by a local choir. The highlight of the afternoon was watching the video of the ‘12 Days of Golfmas’ that was created by Matthew in the office. Ladies had filmed themselves singing various lines from The 12 Days of Golfmas on holes 1-12 and Matthew spliced them all together to create a hilarious, out of tune, rendition! You can see it here on https://www.cityofnewcastlegolfclub.com/members-noticeboard/ Photographs are also available in the Gallery page.
So, as we look forward to a Covid free festive period, may I wish you all a wonderful, peaceful Christmas and all the very best for 2022.
