League Update
The last league games were played this week.
The North Durham team beat Beamish, the League Leaders 11-3, but just missed out on promotion after a big win for Wearside who clinched promotion. The team has been managed by Kevin Hutchinson with the help of Neil Elborn this season and hopefully they will continue their good work next year.
The N&D game at Northumberland last night came down to the last putt on the last green surrounded by many supporters from both clubs. A wonderful atmosphere. Many thanks to all who came along.
Congratulations to Northumberland for winning the title for the first time since 1968. City ended as runners up, two points behind
The League's Player of the Year was Andrew Minnikin who won every game playing at number 1 in the team. A fantastic achievement and one for the history books.
Thank you to all the team players for their time and commitment. A great bunch of golfers who can hopefully go one step further next year.

Many congratulations to Andrew Minnikin on winning the County Strokeplay title at Dunstanburgh in tough conditions over the weekend. This completes the double of winning both County Championships this season. An outstanding achievement.
The City were the best represented club in the County at Dunstanburgh with nine players starting at the weekend and four making the cut on Sunday. Well done to Philip Ridden, Ian Davidson and Tony Stevenson for finishing 7th, 10th and 15th respectively.
Our teams play the final games of the season this week starting with the Durham league match at home to league leaders Beamish on Tuesday, with an outside chance of promotion after a strong late run.
It’s going to be an exciting finish in the Newcastle & District league on Thursday when we travel to Northumberland for the final match with both teams tied on 101 points. The winner will pick up the title. A draw would lead to a playoff at a neutral venue.
Supporters very welcome at both matches.
