Sadly, the glorious weather changed for the 1st league match at home to Bedlington on Tuesday 27th April. However, we think all the greenkeepers were glad to see the rain.
On a cold bitterly day, the City Seniors team triumphed 8-4. Notable highlight of the day was debutant Joe Small, who managed to hole his second shot on the 7th.
Peter Smith was also making his Seniors debut. Another milestone for Peter, having played for the Junior section, and the Newcastle District League. He also celebrated, this week, 50 years as a City member.
A friendly pint and a sandwich in the marquee on a very damp and bitterly cold evening concluded the day.
