COMPETITION DIARY

The diary of all Men's and Ladies' competitions is now updated on the Club Website to reflect the revised dates.  We have included almost all of the normal club competitions with the exception of Invitation Day and some of the Open events.  The diary is also available on the Club V1 App by selecting Club Diary from the menu.

COVID COMPETITION RULES

The HowDidIDo scoring app has been introduced to enable competitions to be safely managed.  The following rules are to ensure successful running of competitions while using the app:

  1. SIGN IN
    1. All players must sign in to a competition prior to teeing off.
    2. You should use the HowDidIDo app to do this.
    3. You can also sign in and enter your scores at www.howdidido.com from your internet browser on your phone or computer.
    1. Exceptionally, if the app fails, or you don’t have it, you can:
      1. enter in the pro shop,
      2. Text message to 07906986199 or
      3. email citygolfclub@outlook.com
      4. For Ladies competitions: email cityladies@yahoo.co.uk , or contact Pam Oliver, Dot Lee, Carol Wilkinson or Sharon White for Ladies competitions
    2. Make sure you tell us the name of the competition you are entering and if you want to be in the 2’s and back 9 sweep.
    3. Any players not signing into the competition before they tee off will be withdrawn from the competition.

  1. RECORDING SCORES
You are still required to record the score for you and a partner as you would normally during the round using a pencil and scorecard, but without ever passing the card to your partner. There is no requirement to sign the card. Scorecards are available in the Pro Shop, if required.
  1. VERIFYING SCORES

After completing the round you must verbally (at a safe distance) confirm the scores on your scorecard with your partner. You should retain a copy of the scores that you have kept for you and your partner (without swapping over the cards), for verification or in case of the scores not being received on the system.

  1. RETURNING SCORES

Players need to return their scores on the HowDidIDo app without undue delay, and we ask that this is done within 20 minutes of completing your round:

  1. You should use the HowDidIDo app to do this.
  2. You can also sign in and enter your scores at www.howdidido.com from your internet browser on your phone or computer.
  3. For Covid safety reasons you must not return to the Pro’s shop to enter your scores.
  4. Exceptionally, if you cannot access HowDidIDo, the following fallback options are available:
    1. Email to citygolfclub@outlook.com
    2. Text message to 07906 986199.
    3. For Ladies competitions: email cityladies@yahoo.co.uk , or contact Pam Oliver, Dot Lee, Carol Wilkinson or Sharon White for Ladies competitions
  5. Make sure you tell us your name, competition, tee off time, hole scores and 18 hole total score.
  1. COMPETITION CLOSING
The competitions team aim to close the competition shortly after dusk, as we need to update handicaps ready for play the following day.  Any players who have not returned their scores by then will be disqualified from the competition.

The competitions team will verify the scores of leading players with their playing partners.  This is why all competitors must keep a record of their score and their partners score, and have a booked tee time on the BRS system.

All results will be posted on the Club V1 and HowDidIDo apps, and results and prizes will be posted on the club website.
