Probably the hottest day of the year, saw 158 players participate for the Presidents Salver, plus other prizes. Blue skies all day and the temperature in the mid 20's.

 

Water and sunblock were the order of the day.

 

The first group off at 7am, Chris Morris, Graham Shord and Aaron Trail got the event under way, ably supported by the early meeter and greeter Chris Miller.

 

I met my guests at 11am for coffee and a bacon sarnie.. This was then followed by golf. As we teed off just after mid day, the sun was very strong, shorts, sunglasses, and hats were in abundance.

 

My chosen charity was the The Alzheimer's Society. A fantastic sum of £840 was raised for this awful disease. A big thankyou to all.

 

An evening meal was enjoyed by 32 guests in the beautiful Bistro area. We were all well looked after by Judith and the team. Many compliments have been received this morning about the catering and friendly atmosphere.

A very special mention to Andy Minnikin who shot a 64 gross (41 points) including 8 birdies and 10 pars, what a great round.

 

Congratulations also go go Sean Mallenby who had a hole in one on the 12th

 

It was pleasing that all prizewinners were there to collect their prizes

On a personal note, the day would not have run smoothly without support from the office, all the starters, staff who worked throughout the day. Most importantly to our comps team led by Phil Tennant, what a great job they do for us all. !!
