President Bill Gibson won the Past Captains' Trophy, with 39 points at Dalmahoy yesterday in an eventful trip away.

Day one Sunday, had to be abandoned due to torrential rain, thunder and lightning.

Sunday night was interrupted by a fire alarm; all evacuated to the car park, until given the all clear by the fire brigade.

Nevertheless, we managed to dodge the rain on Monday and bashed on with the competition.

As current Captain I was playing as a guest, after receiving an invitation, from the Chairman of the Past Captains, Dave Fletcher. 
I had the pleasure of playing with Bill and Peter Smith; great company.

Past Captains competing were: John Franklin, John Harrison,Gordon Lamb, Jim Screen, Simon Bowman, Bill Gibson, Dave Fletcher, and Peter Smith. Vice Captain Neil Walker and George Hall also played as guests.

A great trip, may the tradition long continue.
