This week saw the Ladies County Vets Championship hosted by Whitley Bay Golf Club. 

After a qualifying round on Monday, City of Newcastle's Angie Heads moved into the matchplay phase beginning on Tuesday. A  2up win on Tuesday morning against Sue Coughtrie who plays out of Whitley Bay, in the afternoon Angie moved into the quarter finals v Linda Davison of Blyth and won a tight game by 1 hole. 

Today (Wednesday) was the semi final v Liz Hartley of Stocksfield, Angie marched on into the final with an excellent 4&3 victory. The final was played this afternoon with home player Elaine Elliott the opposition........ it could not of been closer with Angie winning the Championship on the 19th hole!!!! 

Well Done Angie for representing the club so well and also earning the proposition of leading out Northumberland Lady Vets in the Inter County Championship.
